Emily Kretschmer is a self-taught mixed media artist with an MFA in Creative Writing from MNSU, Mankato. She received a 2025 Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Individuals grant that supported making and sharing art in south-central MN communities throughout that year. She also worked as a college writing instructor, a playwright’s assistant, a circus promoter, and a food co-op floor cleaner.
Keith Luebke is a gardening activist who has coordinated Heart & Soil Community Garden in Mankato, MN, for more than a decade. He is Professor Emeritus of Non-Profit Management and Art History/Visual Culture at MNSU, Mankato. He also worked as an advocate of affordable housing and comprehensive services for people experiencing homelessness. Emily and Keith live in the diversity-friendly old Lincoln Park Neighborhood of Mankato, MN, with two loud but loving collies, Skye and Zuni (Zoomie), and a tuxedo cat, Ady.
